Özet
Bu eser, sedimenter ortamlar ve jeomorfositler konularında kapsamlı bir çalışma sunmaktadır. Kitap, Türkiye'deki ve dünya genelindeki jeomorfositlerin bilimsel, estetik, ekolojik ve kültürel değerlerini ele alırken, jeomorfositlerin korunması, jeoturizm ve sürdürülebilir çevre yönetimi açısından önemini vurgulamaktadır. Tendürek Volkanı ve çevresi, volkanik jeomorfosit örnekleri ve lav akıntılarının tipolojisiyle detaylandırılmıştır. Ayrıca Batı Anadolu Neojen havzalarında jips oluşumu, paleoçeşitli çevre yorumları ve diyajenez süreçleri çok disiplinli bir yaklaşımla incelenmiştir. Küçükderbent Formasyonu jips birimlerine ilişkin petrografi, litofasiyes özellikleri, sedimantoloji ve tektonik-iklim ilişkileri açıklanmıştır. Jips ve anhidrit minerallerinin oluşumu, faz dönüşümleri ve biyojenik etkiler gibi süreçler detaylandırılmıştır. Kitap, ayrıca karbonat çökelme ortamlarını, yokuş, şelf, gelgit düzlüğü ve havza ortamları gibi farklı karbonat ortamlarının hidrodinamik, biyolojik ve sedimentolojik özelliklerini örneklerle açıklamaktadır. Jeomorfositlerin ve sedimenter ortamların detaylı incelenmesi, hem yer bilimciler hem de turizm planlamacıları için önemli veriler sağlamaktadır. Eserde, modern teknolojilerle jeomirasta ilerleme ve çevresel-sosyoekonomik kalkınma arasındaki ilişki vurgulanmaktadır.
This work presents a comprehensive study on sedimentary environments and geomorphosites. The book emphasizes the scientific, aesthetic, ecological, and cultural values of geomorphosites in Turkey and worldwide, highlighting their significance for conservation, geotourism, and sustainable environmental management. Detailed examples of volcanic geomorphosites and lava flow typologies are provided from the Tendürek Volcano area. Additionally, the formation of gypsum in Western Anatolian Neogene basins is investigated through a multidisciplinary approach, including petrography, lithofacies, sedimentology, and tectonic-climatic relations of the Küçükderbent Formation gypsum units. Processes such as the formation and phase transitions of gypsum and anhydrite minerals, along with biogenic influences, are elaborated. The book also explores carbonate depositional environments, describing various carbonate slope, shelf, tidal flat, and basin settings with their hydrodynamic, biological, and sedimentological characteristics supported by examples. The detailed examination of geomorphosites and sedimentary environments provides valuable data for earth scientists and tourism planners alike. The text further stresses advances in geoheritage utilizing modern technologies and underscores the link between environmental and socio-economic development.
